June 28th Screenwriter's Meeting

The Lake Area Film Group Screenwriter's Meeting will be at the Calcasieu Parish Central Library, 301 W. Claude Street. This is the corner of W. Claude and Ernest (the street behind K-Mart). The meeting will be upstairs in the large meeting room at 7pm on June 28th.

Topics will include reviews of submitted scripts and a discussion of Triggerstreet.com - a web site for aspiring screenwriters from Kevin Spacey.

LAFG Screenwriters and anyone interested in the craft of screenwriting are encouraged to attend.

Fist Productions Shorts Screening

Fist Productions will be hosting a screening of several of their short films on Sunday, July 3rd at 7:30pm at the Hideaway Lounge, 3200 Highway 108 West in Sulphur. The screening will last approximately one hour.

Two Fist Production short films, The Knockout and The Box, were recently shown at the Contraband Film Festival.

Please note that many of the short films deal with adult subject matter and language.

Mercy

Shooting for Patrick Roddy's horror feature Mercy is well under way. This dark tale stars Gary Shannon and Shelly Farrell. The cast and crew also features several other members of the LAFG.

Shooting is expected to wrap in late June/early July. Below are several selected stills from the production.

June 14th Screenwriter's Meeting

The Lake Area Film Group Screenwriter's Meeting is moving to the Calcasieu Parish Central Library, 301 W. Claude Street. This is the corner of W. Claude and Ernest (the street behind K-Mart).

Meeting Highlights

Highlights of this month's meeting included the upcoming solicitation of resume's to fill directorship positions on the Lake Area Film Group Board of Directors and updates on the film shoots for Patrick Roddy's Mercy and Bryan Trahan's feature.
